Gorges du Verdon

Majestic rocks and emerald water

Majestic Landscapes of the Verdon Gorge

In the heart of the Verdon Regional Natural Park, the great canyon of the Verdon Gorge forms a gigantic cut that seems to have been sculpted by the gods. The Verdon Gorge, the largest canyon in Europe, stretches between the towns of Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, offering breathtaking and unique views. These gorges are the result of the fantastic erosive work of the Verdon River on the limestone plateaus of Provence. Their exceptional depth (up to 700 meters!) and geographical location at the meeting point of Alpine and Mediterranean climates have fostered an extraordinary richness of flora and fauna. The wild and lush nature offers visitors magnificent discoveries and luxurious panoramas of the Verdon.

The Verdon River originates at an altitude of 2819 meters at the Allos Pass and stretches for 175 km before flowing into the Durance. The cliffs reach heights of 250 to 700 meters, with widths varying from 6 to 100 meters at the base and from 200 to 1500 meters at the top of the gorge, creating a grand natural spectacle.

In our 4-day Tour Provence, after admiring the views of the cliffs, you will set out to explore the emerald waters of the Verdon. On a catamaran or boat, you can sail along the river and enjoy different sensations.

At the end of the gorge lies the Lake of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, an ideal place for swimming and relaxing at the end of a summer day.

The Verdon Gorge, like other gems of Provence included in our tour, promises unforgettable experiences and unparalleled views at every turn. Book your spot now!
